Toyota has issued a voluntary recall for the ninth-generation Camry in India to fix a potential issue with the 360-degree camera. According to Toyota, 2,257 units of the Camry have been affected by this recall. The issue is related to a component in the Panoramic View Monitor (PMV) system, which can cause the image on the infotainment system to freeze while reversing or cause no image to be displayed if the ignition is turned on or off within a specific time. The 9th-gen Camry was launched in India in December last year. The sedan comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which displays the feed from PMV. In India, the new Camry is offered with a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). The hybrid powertrain delivers 227 BHP and 220 Nm.
