Tata Motors has given us the first glimpse of the upcoming Sierra SUV ahead of its official launch on 25th November, 2025. It will be one of Tata’s iconic nameplate to be revived in the next five years. Based on the monocoque chassis, the Tata Sierra will take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyrider and Volkswagen Taigun.
Tata Sierra Price Expectations
The Sierra SUV lineup will come with multiple powertrain options, with estimated price range of Rs 11 lakh for the petrol-powered (NA) base variant to Rs 21 lakh for the top-end variant. The electric version is likely to cost around Rs 18 lakh for the entry-level variant featuring a smaller battery back with a single motor, and could go up to nearly Rs 25 lakh for the top-spec trim.
Tata Sierra Petrol & Diesel Specs (Expected)
While the official engine specifications will be revealed at the time of launch, the Sierra petrol is likely to come with a 1.5L naturally aspirated and a 1.5L turbo motor. Showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the turbocharged petrol will deliver a maximum power of 170bhp and 280Nm of torque. The diesel version is expected to feature a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo motor, sourced from the Curvv. Both manual and DCT automatic gearbox options are likely to be on offer.
Tata Sierra EV Range & Battery (Expected)
The Sierra EV could borrow the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs from the Harrier EV. The smaller battery version will come with a single motor RWD setup, while the latter battery model will be available with both single RWD and dual AWD configurations. The Sierra EV is expected to deliver a driving range of over 500km.
Tata Sierra Features
The Sierra will be Tata’s first model to offer triple screens – a central touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display behind the steering wheel and a dedicated co-passenger display. The feature list might also include a 4-spoke steering wheel, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, ambient lights, six airbags, Level-2 ADAS and many more.
