Rangareddy Emerges As India’s Richest District, Beats Gurugram and Bengaluru – Rangareddy richest district, India’s richest district 2025, Economic Survey 2024-25, Telangana richest district, Rangareddy GDP per capita, Gurugram vs Rangareddy economy, Hyderabad IT corridor growth, Telangana economy, Hyderabad tech growth | Rangareddy Leads India’s Economic Race, Leaving Gurugram and Bengaluru Behind

Rangareddy district in Telangana has officially become India’s wealthiest district, surpassing major economic hubs such as Gurugram, Bengaluru Urban, and even Mumbai, according to the Economic Survey 2024–25.

With a GDP per capita of ₹11.46 lakh, Rangareddy leads comfortably ahead of Gurugram’s ₹9.05 lakh. The district’s meteoric rise has been powered by Hyderabad’s booming IT corridor, a robust pharmaceutical sector, and the presence of large technology parks — factors that have transformed it into one of India’s most dynamic growth centres.

Experts say Rangareddy’s success reflects how India’s urban regions are evolving into concentrated economic powerhouses, driven by technology, services, and manufacturing. The growth aligns with India’s broader trajectory as the world’s fourth-largest economy, projected to reach the third spot by 2030.

Rangareddy’s proximity to Hyderabad’s tech zones — including Cyberabad, Gachibowli, and Madhapur — has played a key role in attracting global companies and start-ups. The district also houses major pharmaceutical and biotechnology clusters, R&D centres, and large-scale manufacturing units, all contributing significantly to job creation and income growth.

While Gurugram has lost its top position, it remains a major IT and corporate hub. Bengaluru too continues to anchor India’s digital economy with its vast startup ecosystem.

Other districts among India’s top 10 richest include Bengaluru Urban (₹8.93 lakh), Gautam Buddha Nagar (₹8.48 lakh), Solan (₹8.10 lakh), North & South Goa (₹7.63 lakh), Sikkim districts (₹7.46 lakh), Dakshina Kannada (₹6.69 lakh), Mumbai (₹6.57 lakh), and Ahmedabad (₹6.54 lakh).
