Eleven individuals involved in drug trade were arrested during a raid conducted by the Gachibowli police and Madhapur Special Operations Team (SOT) on November 3 at SM Luxury Guest Room Co-living and PG Hostel in TNGOs Colony.
Two suspects, Gutha Teja Krishna and Pakanati Lokesh Reddy, were initially apprehended. Their confessions led the officials to others, including Vennela Ravi Kiran alias Bannu, Peddamantoor Harshavardhan Reddy, Manne Venkata Prashanth, and Shajeer Motungara, who were detained at Hotel Night Eye in Madhapur.
Further investigation uncovered a wider network involving suppliers, distributors, and consumers across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. Police identified and arrested many suspects linked to the operation, while the absconding accused were named as Prudhvi Vishnu Vardhan, Karlapudy Presley Sujith, Mekala Gowtham, Gundeboyina Nagarjuna alias Arjun, Guntaka Sateesh Reddy alias Satish.
During the raid, police seized 32.14 grams of MDMA, 4.67 grams of ganja, six mobile phones, two motorbikes, weighing machines, packing materials, and ₹10,000 in cash.
Police said that the network sourced narcotic substances from inter-State suppliers and distributed them to consumers, particularly targeting students and young professionals in Hyderabad. The accused used online platforms and private accommodation facilities to conduct transactions and conceal their operations.
All 11 arrested persons have been remanded to judicial custody, while efforts are ongoing to trace the absconding accused -Vinay, Laxman, Rizwan, Karthik, Vamsi, Harsha and two Nigerian nationals— and identify the inter-State suppliers and financial channels connected to the network.
