60+ New Cars & SUVs Planned For India

India’s four major carmakers – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra – announced their product roadmaps for the next five years. Collectively, these brands plan to introduce over 60 new cars/SUVs across internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) segments. The upcoming product range will include several all-new models along with numerous facelifts, model year (MY) updates and special editions. Let’s take a look at the key highlights of their future plans.

Maruti Suzuki – 8 New SUVs, Targeting 50% Market Share

60+ New Cars & SUVs Planned For India

The Indo-Japanese automaker aims to regain a 50 percent market share by 2030. At the recently held Japan Mobility Show 2025, Toshihiro Suzuki, President and Director of Suzuki Motor Corporation revealed that the company is strongly focused on expanding its SUV and MPV product portfolio and introducing new technologies, while keeping the small cars at the core of its strategy.

Maruti Suzuki also plans to adopt multi-fuel, multi-powertrain strategy, with four EVs coming by 2030. The gap between ICE and EV models will be filed by CNG and hybrid vehicles. The carmaker is developing its own strong hybrid powertrain, which is expected to debut on the updated Fronx in 2026. Maruti has also introduced its new underbody CNG system in the Victoris SUV, which will soon be available in the brand’s other CNG models.

Hyundai – 26 New Models, Hybrids & EVs

Hyundai Motor India has been struggling to maintain its number two position amid tough competition from Tata and Mahindra. Aiming to strengthen its market presence, the South Korean automaker plans to roll out 26 new models by 2030 including 7 to 8 all-new products. The future lineup will comprise entry-level hatchbacks, compact SUVs, premium hybrid SUVs and skateboard platform based electric cars.

In 2026, Hyundai will launch the Bayon compact crossover to challenge the Maruti Fronx and Tata Punch. Around the same time, the Verna sedan and Exter subcompact SUV will receive midlife updates. The next-generation Hyundai Creta with a hybrid powertrain is planned for launch in 2027.

The carmaker will introduce its premium electric Avinya sub-brand in 2026. The Avinya and Avinya X will be the first EVs to roll out under this brand, featuring futuristic design language and advanced technologies. The next-generation Tata Nexon is also in the pipeline and is expected to arrive in 2027.
