BHPian abhi_tjet recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I test rode the new Multistrada V2 this weekend. Timing was opportune since I was fresh or tired after a 300 km ride. Below are my observations as per comparison with my 2 year ownership of Multistrada V2 with Desmo valves. I checked the availability with Legacy guys and the bike was available for test ride. The ride was for around 4 kms approximately with moderate traffic and a U turn thrown in it. Now, the most important thing which Ducati is relaying through almost every media channel in every geography they operate. Yes, Bike is light. To elaborate further, weight felt relatively less in terms of how it rides. However, weight felt absolutely same if you are picking it from side stand. Bike felt relatively lighter and more manageable while taking a right handed U turn in a junction with moderate traffic. However, it will feel absolutely same if you are walking the bike in terms of moving it in parking or just arranging it for photo shoot. Moreover, the front panel including the plastic shrouds around speedo console and fuel tank are all relatively lower and doesn’t block your peripheral view. This gives a feeling of immense space and easy manoeuvrability. Frankly speaking, it felt like I was riding a 150cc Yamaha Fazer in terms of how low and minimal the cowl felt in my vision. Then there is actual weight saving with smaller engine block and all the latest tech along with smaller diameter forks, absence of keyless module, lesser capacity tank and some more. Actual ride experience-Clutch action felt similar with normal lightness expected from hydraulic one as compared to cable operated one.Brakes and riding comfort too felt similar. They are anyways quite the benchmark. There are no changes here, so it’s expected.Seat height is same. Suspension too felt similar with minimal jerks felt at city speeds.Engine sound is completely different and I am neutral to how it sounds. It felt slightly loud, power delivery too felt similar. However, acceleration and smoothness in higher gear overall can’t be judged from short ride. The speedo display console is new and there’s quite a lot of information on it. Or may be there might be a view where minimal information is shown. As I mentioned above, keyless start and go is gone.In context of ADV’s, this is the lightest taking the baton from Tiger 900 GT which is close to 220kg and Multi will be around 215kgSharing few pics Multi in green, the test ride bike can be seen slightly out of frame See, no key less start! They have tried to make the tank and front panel slimmer.. And lower too. This looks a genuine attempt by Ducati to make adv’s less intimidating with cheaper maintenance. Wishing the best to them. Thanks for reading guys. Ride safe! Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
