BHPian akash_v12 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: After 3 months of owning our Windsor and having done approximately 3,900KMs of office runs, we finally took it out for a trip from Navi Mumbai (Belapur) to Pune (Undri). Since most of the details regarding range et.al, have already been shared by others, I will talk more about energy consumption and availability of charging. Also did a quick check on Plugshare/Statiq a day before, since our plan was to charge the car before entering Pune and after the ghats, and we chose to stop at the BP Petrol Pump after the Talegaon Toll for both charging and breakfast. Our plan was to start from our home at around 5:30AM to beat the Diwali traffic, so we got the car charged to 98% the day before. We eventually left at 6AM, and joined the expressway using the Panvel/JNPT connector. We reached the Khopoli Toll Plaza (about 40KMs from the start) with about 84% charge left ~ which amounts to about 14% consumption till this section. Unfortunately, the ghats were a mess. Jam-packed with cars, trucks, buses, tempos; it was a you-name-it, we’ve-got-it situation. So bad, in fact, that they had to stop the traffic from the opposite side till the Lonavala exit to open that lane for vehicles going to Pune. We finally exited the ghats at about 8AM, with about 69% charge left (62.1KM done, 31% consumed). Pulled into BP at Talegaon, and charged up to 100% using the Statiq App. Relatively easy process, and we charged 40% whilst finishing breakfast with another BE6 also charging. Traffic in Pune was also painful with the entire Katraj stretch having an almost half-hour delay. Total time taken was almost 5 hours (incl. food stop). Reached home with approximately 80% (144KMs, 60% consumed, uphill) charge left. So, overall consumption on the uphill run to Pune was 60% with 3 people + 1 Shih Tzu and 3 cabin suitcases + 2 soft duffels + laptop bags + 2 soft foldable mattresses. Used the car in and around Pune (sometimes with 6 people on board), and after 4 days, the remaining charge was 35% (278KMs covered, 105% consumed). While returning, we took the route through the city. Since it was the 2nd night of Diwali, roads were relatively empty. Again, the car was fully charged at the Shell Petrol Pump (Uruli). We covered the distance of approximately 139KMs in 2 hours and 30 mins using 40% charge with the same load. This translates to approximately 9.15KM/KWh or 3.5KM/% of consumption, extremely good, I’d say. Note: Most driving was done on Normal Mode with Heavy Regen on. An app like Statiq is such a boon, as you can recharge one app to charge at most big-name CPOs. Good to see infrastructure developing. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
