Telangana is slowly feeling the chill of winter as temperatures began dropping across the state on Saturday, November 8. The northern, central, and western regions are seeing the most significant dip, indicating the start of colder days ahead.
Adilabad’s Bela emerged as the coldest spot in the state today, recording a minimum temperature of 14.8°C. Other parts of the northern and central districts also witnessed a steady fall in temperatures, marking the gradual shift from the mild post-monsoon climate to the cooler winter season.
The state capital, Hyderabad, is also experiencing a drop in temperatures. The University of Hyderabad recorded a minimum of 17.4°C, while Rajendranagar recorded 18.4°C. Early morning and late evening chills have prompted residents to bring out warmer clothing as winter approaches.
Meteorologists have predicted that the cooling trend is likely to continue in the coming days. From November 9, the state may experience more intense cold, especially in northern and western districts, which are prone to lower temperatures during the winter months.
Experts advise residents, particularly children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions, to take necessary precautions. Early mornings and late evenings are expected to be especially chilly, so wearing warm clothing and covering exposed skin is recommended.
As Telangana gradually transitions into winter, residents can expect cool mornings, comfortable afternoons, and cold nights over the coming weeks. This marks the onset of the winter season, offering relief from the lingering October heat. A detailed forecast for the week ahead will be shared soon, providing a clearer picture of how the winter weather will unfold across the state.
