BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao expressed confidence that the party’s candidate Deepak Reddy will win the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency in the bypoll, citing a favourable atmosphere in the area.

Addressing a press conference at the State party office on Sunday (November 9, 2025), Mr. Rao accused the ruling Congress party of resorting to communal politics. He alleged that the Congress government was unable to seek votes based on its 23 months of developmental and welfare work and was now using religion as a political weapon.

Mr. Rao cited examples of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s alleged communal remarks, including a slogan that “Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress,” and the Deputy Chief Minister’s appeal to the Christian community to vote only for the Congress. He questioned whether this was not a form of communal provocation.

The BJP chief strongly refuted Congress leaders’ criticism and claimed that the Central government had allocated over ₹12 lakh crore for Telangana’s development. He listed out major Central government initiatives for Telangana, including the revival of the Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant, NTPC power projects, the establishment of the Turmeric Board in Nizamabad, and the inauguration of the Sammakka-Sarakka Central Tribal University.

AIMIM backing drug racket

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that a drug racket, with the support of AIMIM, is targeting minor girls from other faiths and ruining their lives. He expressed severe annoyance over the police in the old city, accusing them of not conducting an investigation despite this.

Addressing a press conference with other leaders at the State party office in Hyderabad on Sunday (November 9), Mr. Sanjay also accused the Congress government of not acting on it due to pressure from AIMIM. He said that the drug gang is targeting a school where girls study in Hyderabad’s old city, and the government has not taken any action so far. He made it clear that if the government does not act immediately and deal with the drug gang on a war footing and does not save the lives of minor girls, they will deploy thousands of volunteers in the old city. He also warned that Central paramilitary forces will be deployed in old city.
