Yamaha XSR 155 launched in India at Rs 1.50 lakh

After being spotted testing several times, Yamaha Motor India has launched the XSR 155 in the country. Priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the XSR 155 is the most affordable 155 cc engine in the brand’s Indian lineup. It is similar to its predecessors R15 and MT-15 and shares most of its cycle parts with them.

The XSR 155 features a retro-oriented design with round LED headlamps, teardrop shaped fuel tank and a flat bench seat. The XSR 155 shares the same design as the R15 and MT-15, with Yamaha’s Deltabox frame paired with upside-down front forks and a linked-type monoshock.

The XSR 155 is powered by the same 155 cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.1 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. This unit is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and also has an assist-and-slipper clutch.

Dual-channel ABS and traction control are included, but the motorcycle has an LCD instrument console instead of a TFT display. Its curb weight is 137 kg and it is fitted with 17-inch wheels. The seat height of the motorcycle is 810 mm and ground clearance is 120 mm, while the fuel tank capacity is 10 litres.

Priced at Rs 1.50 lakh, the XSR 155 is Rs 5,000 cheaper than the base MT-15 and Rs 4,000 cheaper than the base R15. It is available in a single variant and includes silver, blue, green and red, and all these colors are available with contrast colours.
