Actor Sharwanand, who is known for experimenting with most of his script choices, is now coming with his new outing, Biker. Touted to be a sports drama set against the backdrop of bike racing, this movie is directed by Abhilash Kankara and produced by UV Creations. The film is slated for worldwide release on December 6.
The recently released teaser got a terrific response from viewers, and many people even assumed it to be the “F1” of the Telugu film industry. But a simple song teaser, which was unveiled the other day, has brought down the buzz significantly, presumably becoming a costly mistake by the makers.
Getting into details, the makers of Biker released the promo of the first single, Pretty Baby, the other day. The visuals in the promo suggested the song to be a typical romantic dance number. There wouldn’t be much discussion about it if the song were from another movie. But Biker’s case is different.
After watching the teaser, audiences thought Biker would be a serious sports drama without any unwanted commercial elements. The teaser’s visuals made people feel it was on the level of F1. Even Sharwanand’s speech was impressive, as he spoke with great confidence and revealed interesting details about shooting the racing scenes in real locations across Indonesia with professional racers. Witnessing all these, audiences expected Biker to deliver a new kind of experience in Telugu cinema.
Even though the movie has a love track, most of the audience felt that it was fine to include it for the story’s flow, but such songs should have been avoided as they break the storyline’s tempo, especially since the audience is more connected to the F1-style racing aspect of the film.
However, the same audience on social media is now trolling the song promo. They are sarcastically commenting that F1 could never attempt to do such dance numbers. All of a sudden, the positivity brought by the teaser was melted away by the song promo. This simple song promo proved to be a costly mistake.
People feel that the makers should consider this feedback seriously and avoid such disturbances in the film. Meanwhile, the full song will be unveiled tomorrow (November 13).
