Security was heightened at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Wednesday (November 12, 2025) following a bomb threat email sent to the Delhi International Airport that mentioned several major airports across the country, including Hyderabad.
The email threat, reportedly received through IndiGo’s grievance portal, triggered anti-sabotage checks by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police. Authorities later confirmed that the email was a hoax.

The comes shortly after the high-intensity blast near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday (November 10, 2025), which killed at least 13 people and injured several others. The airport has since been on high alert with additional personnel deployed at entry and exit points; baggage checks and patrols intensified inside the terminal and passengers were subjected to enhanced screening as part of the precautionary protocol.
