Drone Ban and Traffic Diversions Announced for CII Summit

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam city police have announced a complete ban on drone operations and traffic restrictions ahead of the 30th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Summit-2025, scheduled to be held on November 14 and 15 at the Andhra University campus.

As part of enhanced security measures, the flying of drones has been strictly prohibited across Visakhapatnam from November 12 to 15. City police commissioner Sankhabrata Bagchi cautioned that violators would face legal action, and their drones would be seized.

The two-day summit will witness the attendance of Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Ministers K. Pawan Kalyan, Union and state ministers, and around 3,000 delegates from 40 countries.

General motorists will not be permitted to travel between the Third Town Police Station Junction and Maddilapalem Arch on both sides from November 12 to 16. During the summit, motorists travelling from Visakha Eye Hospital Junction towards Siripuram must divert at the hospital junction and proceed via Shivaji Palem to reach the highway. Those coming from Siripuram Junction towards the Three Town Police Station should take a diversion at Tycoon Junction.

Traffic will be temporarily halted at key junctions along routes connecting major hotels like Novotel, Grand Bay, Radisson Blu, Green Park, Four Points by Sheraton, Bhimili Novotel, and The Park to the conference venue at the Andhra University grounds. The stretch from Siripuram Junction to NTR Bhavan will also experience intermittent traffic stops for VIP movement.

For heavy vehicles, mandatory diversions will be in effect on November 14 and 15. Heavy vehicles traveling from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram towards Anakapalli must divert at Anandapuram Junction and proceed via Pendurthi and Sabbavaram. Vehicles moving from Anakapalli towards Srikakulam and Vizianagaram should divert at Lankalapalem Junction and travel via Sabbavaram and Pendurthi to reach Anandapuram.

The police have designated 11 parking zones with a total capacity of around 2,520 vehicles. VVIP Parking Place A-1, in front of the YVS Murthy Auditorium, accommodates 40 cars for Union Ministers, while A-2, next to the auditorium, holds 30 cars for senior IAS and IPS officers. VVIP Parking Place A-3 at Bhaskara Hostel Ground can accommodate 200 cars for state ministers and protocol vehicles.

VIP Parking Place B, at AU Engineering B Ground, with a capacity of 200 cars, will serve VIP pass holders, MPs, MLCs, and MLAs. Delegates from premium hotels should proceed through Siripuram via the Three Town Police Station Junction to reach designated alighting points. Parking Place C, opposite the helipad, reserves 200 spaces for government officials.

For general delegates, Parking Place D-1 at AU Engineering B Ground provides 800 spaces, with overflow parking available at D-2 to D-6, offering an additional 1,050 spaces across various locations, including the Pithapuram Colony gate side and areas around Newton Hostel, Samatha Hostel, and Meta Hostel.
