Vijayawada: Guntur SP Vakul Jindal suspended three police personnel for indulging in gambling and consuming alcohol at a hotel under the Pedakakani Police Station limits, in violation of departmental discipline and ethical standards. According to police, the incident came to light recently when the personnel were found participating in unlawful activities, including gambling, contrary to the conduct expected from members of the police service. Acting on the findings, SP Vakul Jindal issued suspension orders against the three under Rule 8 (Sub-rule 1) of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1991. The suspension was ordered for violating Rule 3 of the APCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964, which mandates integrity, devotion to duty, and discipline among govt employees.The suspended personnel were identified as K Venkata Rao, assistant sub-inspector, Pedakakani Police Station; Ch Radhakrishna, head constable, East Traffic Police Station; and R Rajendra Prasad, head constable, Thullur Police Station.SP Vakul Jindal emphasised that discipline and integrity form the foundation of the police force. He cautioned that participation in or support for any unlawful activities would not be tolerated and warned that strict departmental action would be taken against any personnel found violating the code of conduct.
