Vijayawada: The medical and health department has prepared estimates worth Rs 13.13 crore for carrying out temporary repair works at 40 govt-owned hospitals. These include health and wellness centres and teaching hospitals that were damaged due to the recent Cyclone Montha across various parts of the state. Accordingly, the engineers submitted the estimates to Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav on Wednesday.As per the estimates prepared by the officials, Rs 9.54 crore was sought for repairing the 14 hospital buildings in Ambedkar Konaseema district, while Rs 1.64 crore was sought for repairing 13 hospitals in Visakhapatnam district. Additionally, Rs 88.25 lakh was allocated for repairing six hospitals in Chittoor district, along with the repair of three hospital buildings in Vizianagaram district at Rs 77 lakh. Officials in their report submitted to the health minister also mentioned that the hospital building rooftops, boundary walls, and electricity supply channels were damaged at several hospital premises in the state.
