According to the company, the initiative marks India’s first fully manned public EV charging network, offering round-the-clock staff support and amenities that replicate the experience of traditional fuel stations.
The launch expands TATA.ev’s MegaCharger network to more than 70 sites nationwide under its Open Collaboration 2.0 initiative, through which the company partners with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to build high-speed charging infrastructure.
Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “The demand for accessible, widespread, and reliable charging infrastructure has become increasingly critical.” TATA.ev plans to establish over 400,000 charging points, including 500 MegaChargers, by 2027.
The new network aims to make long-distance EV travel across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana convenient and reliable while setting a benchmark for public charging infrastructure in India. Rajan added that these fast-charging hubs connect major cities, enabling seamless EV travel across key locations in these states.
The 14 new stations are positioned along five major corridors — Hyderabad–Bengaluru, Hyderabad–Vijayawada, Hyderabad–Tirupati, Vijayawada–Chennai, and Srikakulam–Vijayawada — with highway stations spaced 100 to 170 km apart.
Each location offers multiple fast-charging connectors, with select hubs supporting up to 360 kW across 12 bays and enabling 80% charging in 30–40 minutes.
Raja Sekhar Upputuri, CEO of Voltran, said, “We are excited to partner with TATA.ev to launch our co-branded TATA.ev x Voltran MegaCharger Stations across all major highways in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These hubs are manned 24×7 and customers don’t need an app to charge as they can pay with cash, card, or UPI. All hubs include air-conditioned lounges, clean washrooms, and multiple food options.”
In Hyderabad, the flagship MegaCharger at Madhapur, located within 5 km of Hi-Tech City and Jubilee Hills, offers 12 charging bays with a total capacity of 360 kW, alongside a café, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi.
Along the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway, new stations at Beechupalli and Anantapur provide six connectors each, with restrooms and cafeterias for travellers. On the Hyderabad–Vijayawada Highway, a major hub at Suryapet features 10 connectors offering up to 240 kW.
Three new hubs — Mydukur, Miryalaguda, and Tirupati — serve the Hyderabad–Tirupati Highway, while the Vijayawada–Chennai Highway now has MegaChargers at Kaza, Ongole, and Nellore, spaced roughly 100 km apart. Each of these sites includes fast chargers, cafés, restrooms, and Wi-Fi access.
On the Srikakulam–Vijayawada corridor, four stations — Srikakulam, Gannavaram, Rajanagaram, and Anakapalle — provide six fast-charging connectors each, ensuring dependable service along the coastal route.
