Paul Skenes has just two years of MLB experience under his belt with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he’s got two major trophies to show for them.
Last year’s NL Rookie of the Year is now the 2025 NL Cy Young winner as we found out on Wednesday night. And the reaction from him and girlfriend Livvy Dunne was VERY different than last year’s on-camera moment that went viral.
Skenes and Dunne were thrilled and were all smiles. Last year? She was excited and he just… kind of smirked? Meanwhile, she also took to X (formerly Twitter) to send her congrats, capping off the night with this: “Cy Young Skenes has a nice ring to it.”
