BHPian 07CR recently shared this with other enthusiasts:400 Km Konkan tripCompleted a Konkan trip recently with my wife and 1 year old baby. Route was Pune-Tamhini-Diveagar-Shrivardhan-Harihareshwar-Pune. Weather was a mix of hot and humid while going (5 Nov), while returning post noon, it was extremely chilly. This trip also marks the 7th birthday week drive of the car (considering it was registered on 1st Nov). Odo now stands at 47750 KM. The mileage returned was 13.8KMPL. This included lots of idling time for some snaps/baby related stoppage, all the inclines and declines of ghats, and me pushing the ecoboost just to hear the BOV.Positive ExperienceThe car’s strengths are as good as ever. Punchy 125 PS Ecoboost, remains loyal, delivers power at will, and doesn’t back down at any challenges. AC performed fantastic as always. NVH is stellar and you surely don’t get tired of listening to BOV exhaust. All the features of car performed as expected. Auto Dimming IRVM, Auto Wipers and headlamps, keyless entry, Hill Hold, Climate Control, Hill Hold assist, Cruise control with limiter, cornering fogs, one touch driver window etc, all worked as expected. The chassis and steering combo still would put many a cars, twice or thrice its price to shame. Ecosport holds the line like a leech, and every curve and accelerator inputs make a wide grin on your face. Upsizing from 205/50/17 to 205/55/17 has made a world of difference in ride quality, and missus (rear occupant for most of the ride) is very happy with this change. LED High beam upgrade- I also got to test the upgraded LED high beams (upgraded from stock halogen high beam to 4300K color temperature LED) and their effectiveness. The result was spectacular, and I plan to use them only on highways when necessary to avoid blinding others. The stock low beam HID and fog lamps are good and don’t necessarily need an upgrade.Niggles facedThe glovebox came off abruptly over a massive bump. I am yet to check if it would fit at home, else would need to check with SVC in its Feb service. The right indicator is at times making rapid blinking noise inside, but outside the blinking frequency remains normal. I believe it’s the battery showing some signs of weakness. Some random clicks- Spotted Beaver moon ! Some clicks on the way to shrivardhan overlooking the sea. At the resort. Some night time clicks on lonely road. I absolutley love the puddle lamps. Next update, (incase no major trip occurs) would be in Feb post its annual service.
