Michigan State football will play one final game at Spartan Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with the green-and-white still in search of their first conference win of the season. And so is their opponents on the other sidelines.
The Spartans and Nittany Lions of Penn State will take the field on Saturday with one of them walking away capturing a Big Ten win for the first time this season. Both the Spartans and Nittany Lions come into this game with 3-6 overall records and 0-6 marks in Big Ten play. Both also have lost six straight games and not picked up a victory since the opening month of the season.
Penn State is listed as a touchdown favorite in this matchup, but why can’t the Spartans pull an upset? Does the Spartans Wire crew think they’ll get it done and recapture the Land Grant Trophy?
Let’s see what our Spartans Wire crew thinks about that happening in our weekly Michigan State football predictions below:

Betting Line: Penn State (minus-7.5)
Total: 48.5
Andrew Brewster

Prediction: Michigan State – 21, Penn State 24
Penn State looked vulnerable, but then they nearly upset one of the top teams in the country, Indiana. I can’t in good conscience pick MSU here, but this team hasn’t given up and I don’t expect them to here.
Cory Linsner

Prediction: Michigan State 17, Penn State 35
Penn State may have looked vulnerable, and MSU has not quit, it’s just a simple equation of a massive talent gap being present in this game. Not going to hold my breath the Spartans have an epiphany that they know how to be a good football team all of the sudden.
Robert Bondy

Prediction: Michigan State 20, Penn State 27
Does Penn State care about this game? If they do, they’ll win as the better team. They’ve shown fight in the three games (all losses) since they fired James Franklin, so I’m not expecting them to quit quite yet. So, I’ll go with the Nittany Lions in this battle of disappointing teams — ending any chance of Michigan State reaching a bowl game this year.
