Yamaha EC-06 vs River Indy: Design and Styling
At first glance, both the scooters look similar with wide body panels, upright stance and bulky shapes. However, the Yamaha EC-06 seems to be the more restrained of the two. The biggest difference is in the front part. The River Indy’s twin-square LED headlamps are housed in a black front panel, while the EC-06 has a single, vertically integrated LED setup mounted high inside a gloss black front panel.

The Yamaha’s front cowl is also sleeker than the Indy’s boxy face, with sharper creases and less weight. Viewed from the side, the similarities in structure are obvious, but there are some differences as well. The EC-06 features layered bodywork, while the Indy features large, flat surfaces with minimal cuts or creases.
At the rear, the EC-06 sports a sleek LED taillight under the seat, flanked by compact indicators on either side. The rear setup of the River Indy looks more attractive, with a rectangular tail lamp that matches its front design.
Yamaha EC-06 vs River Indy: Powertrain and battery pack
The Yamaha EC-06 has a lot in common with the Indy. It has a 4 kWh battery and an electric motor that produces a maximum of 6.7 kW, giving it a claimed top speed of 90 km/h, the same as the River Scooter. The certified range of both the scooters is also almost the same, with the Indy having a range of 163 km and the EC-06 having a range of 160 km per charge.

Yamaha EC-06 vs River Indy: Features and Storage
In terms of features, the Yamaha EC-06 is very similar to the River Indy, which includes a color LCD, three riding modes and reverse assist. However, one major difference where the two differ is the underseat storage. The Indy has a generous boot space of 43 litres, making it one of the most spacious cars in its segment, while the EC-06 has a comparatively smaller boot space of 24.5 litres.
The Yamaha lacks a glove box at the front, and only has a charging port in that space, while the Indy has a 12-litre storage compartment. Additionally, the Indy also comes with practical features like rider foot pegs, luggage carrier, multiple hooks and other utility-centric goodies.
There are still a lot of details yet to be revealed about the Yamaha EC-06, including its features, dimensions and suspension setup specifications, though we expect the hardware to be in line with Indy.

Yamaha EC-06 vs River Indy: Price

We estimate that its price will be between Rs.1.60 lakh to Rs.1.70 lakh. We will update this comparison as soon as Yamaha releases more information about the EC-06.
