The Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Cyberabad commissionerate held five transgenders and 22 sex workers during late night raids carried out as part of week-long enforcement drive between November 8 and 14. In a separate operation, eight accused were arrested, and four victims were rescued in three separate Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 cases.

The She Teams conducted 140 decoy operations during the same period and held 87 individuals engaging in indecent acts in public. Police initiated petty cases in 82 instances, while the remaining offenders received counselling. Meanwhile, the She Teams also received 14 complaints from women through multiple modes of communication.

Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres assisted in reuniting 28 couples involved in marital disputes, with officers citing this as a key part of their preventive strategy.

In addition to enforcement, both units held extensive awareness programmes across Cyberabad, reaching more than 300 participants. Sessions covered human and child trafficking, eve-teasing, social-media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyber bullying and cyber frauds.

Police also highlighted the use of helplines such as Women’s Helpline 181, Childline 1098, Dial 100 and Cybercrime helpline 1930. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women and Child Safety Wing, K. Srujana, said the combined drive reflects Cyberabad Police’s continued focus on safety, early intervention and public awareness.
