The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has termed Congress victory in the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election as very much normal for a ruling party and it’s in no way an approval to the administration of A. Revanth Reddy that has betrayed every section during the last two years.
Speaking to newspersons here on Saturday, spokesperson of the BRS and MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar said the ruling parties winning most of the by-elections is very much common in Indian politics. The Chief Minister, all his Cabinet colleagues, all MLAs, MLCs and MPs of the ruling party, the State police, including the Director General of Police, worked for the Congress candidate’s win, he alleged.
He reminded the Congress party and Chief Minister Mr. Revanth Reddy of how the Congress party had lost deposit in several by-elections as also in the last two elections to the GHMC. The ruling party had employed all tactics and misused all powers at its disposal, targeted even the woman candidate of BRS and insulted her for being a widow, spent ₹200 crore and begged the AIMIM support, he alleged.
It was a win of the Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav whose family terrorised people of the constituency warning them of consequences in case they did not vote for him. In the Jubilee Hills by-election Mr. Revanth Reddy had colluded with BJP leaders G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar and begged MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi for getting their parties’ votes for Congress, the BRS leader alleged.
