Apollo Micro Systems completes acquisition of IDL Explosives from Hinduja Group

Hyderabad: Apollo Micro Systems, a Hyderabad-based company engaged in the design, development, and assembly of custom-built electronics and electromechanical solutions, on Monday said it completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in Hyderabad-based IDL Explosives from the Hinduja Group.The acquisition of IDL Explosives, a wholly owned subsidiary of GOCL Corporation, was done through its subsidiary Apollo Defence Industries. While announcing the deal in May this year, Apollo Micro Systems and GOCL Corporation put the transaction size at around Rs107 crore.The deal marks Hinduja Group’s exit from the explosives and detonators business and makes IDL Explosives a step-down subsidiary of Apollo Micro Systems. The move will also strengthen Apollo Micro Systems’ presence in the defence explosives sector.“The acquisition signifies the beginning of a strategic consolidation which is expected to commence from Q3 FY2026 and will strengthen Apollo Group’s footprint in the defence sector by adding critical capabilities of next-gen high-end defence-grade explosives, propellants, and warhead systems to its expertise in weapon system electronics and platforms,” Apollo Micro Systems said.
