Honda Prelude sports car to be launched in India as a CBU Honda had recently invited the Indian media to Japan to experience some of its latest offerings. The new Prelude was one of the cars that journalists got a taste of, which is being evaluated for India. According to the latest reports, the Honda Prelude is indeed coming to India sometime next year. It will serve as a halo car for the brand and will be imported via the CBU route. It is estimated to cost around Rs 50 lakh. The Honda Prelude is a stylish 2-door coupe based on the Accord. It features a sharpish nose section with the Honda badge in the centre, sporty headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, flush-fitting door handles, and an LED light bar at the back. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Prelude gets a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel with shift paddles, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car offers 2+2 seating and comes with a wireless phone charger, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, and ADAS. Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle direct-injection petrol engine paired with two electric motors. It has a combined output of 197 BHP and 315 Nm.
