Ego is ETV WIN’s latest short film that came streaming on OTT this week. Let’s take a look at the review of this short film which is a new episode of their weekly series Katha Sudha.

Story:

Sarakka (Jhansi), a lady don who is insulted at school as a child, becomes fixated on getting revenge on the person who insulted her. But knowing that he is in America, she wants to go there and take her revenge. But she has to learn English to go there for her gang bullies. And how did they learn that English? Why is Sarakka so angry? To know whether she got her revenge or not, you have to watch this movie.

Plus Points:

It can be said that the point of this movie is a bit refreshing compared to the previous short films. That clean comedy, some of the one liner comedy dialogues that are appropriate to the situation are laughable. Also the fun moments of Jhansi running on his gang are good.

The scenes where they learn English class are good comedy scenes that come naturally to them. Jhansi also fit in his role. He showed his experience in the role of Sarakka and filled his role to the fullest. Also the young actor has recently done well in his role of Shubham actor Charan Peri.

He impresses by appearing in good fun situations as a troubled boy teaching English to rude people. Along with them, the actors appearing in the Jhansi category impressed by playing their roles very naturally. Also Bane tried to give the message that the director wanted to give.

Minus Points:

This movie goes very simple. Those who want good strong stories like serious stories and strong emotional moments will be a little disappointed with this short film.

Also, the concept of a team having to learn English is not too new. It reminds me of the scenes in the recent Keeda Cola. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s likely to feel more fun. Also, the story is a bit slow and gives a soso feel.

Technical category:

The production values in this movie are good. Aditya BN’s music is good. The camera work is natural. Editing is okay but needs to be done a little better. And when it comes to the director of this movie, Yohit Reddy, he planned a clean comedy flick with a decent message and tried to entertain. But it’s fine. Some scenes were good fun and went naturally. Otherwise, it would have been a hilarious workout if there had been some good comedy scenes. So if he had taken a little more care, the output would have been better.

Verdict:

On the whole, this short film ‘Ego’ (Education Goes On) can be said to be a comedy entertainer with good fun here and there. Jhansi and Gang as well as Charan did well. But it would have been better if the story had been planned more hilariously with better scenes. If you want to watch a neat comedy drama that leaves little fluff aside, you can watch this.
