Should Nissan consider launching the Patrol SUV in India? BHPian Dippy recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Nissan Patrol India Launch: My TakeThe Nissan Patrol is one of the most iconic SUVs to have been on sale globally. Growing up in the Middle East, I have seen many generations of the Patrol, and even today, it doesn’t fail to wow me every time I see one. I just love that thing. Which brings me to the topic of this thread. The Patrol has a great fan following in India, and there are a number of them running on our roads as private imports. So it makes me wonder why Nissan can’t officially launch it in India? Sure, it will be a CBU and will be expensive. I wouldn’t rule out an Rs. 2.5 crore price tag, either. But Toyota sells the Land Cruiser at a similar price, and it has a decent number of buyers. So why can’t Nissan? Nissan could start by bringing in a limited number of units and see market response. The Patrol could potentially be a halo car for Nissan, and I feel the brand needs it. It won’t be the first time Nissan has launched a high-end product in India if they bring in the Patrol. The brand had launched the 370Z sportscar in 2010 and the GT-R in 2016 in India. I’m not sure of the 370Z numbers, but the GT-R did find quite a few homes across the country.
