Tata Sierra

Set to launch on 25th November 2025, the Tata Sierra will emerge as the one of the strongest rivals of the Hyundai Creta. Initially, the SUV will be introduced with three ICE engine options – a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. An electric version will join the lineup in early 2026. The Sierra EV is likely to share its powertrains with the Harrier EV.

Maruti and Vitara

Maruti and Vitara

The Maruti and Vitara will go on sale on 2nd December 2025. Based on the Heartect-e skateboard platform, the electric SUV will come with 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options. The smaller battery pack with a single motor will deliver power worth 144bhp, while the larger battery with the single and dual motor, AWD setups will produce 174bhp and 184bhp, respectively. The e Vitara will promise a driving range of over 500km per charge.

New-Gen Kia Seltos

The next-gen Kia Seltos will have its world premiere on 10th December, 2025. Its India launch is expected to happen in early 2026. The SUV is expected to adopt Kia’s latest design language and offer features such as larger 12.3-inch displays. One of the major upgrades will come in the form a hybrid powertrain, which will be introduced in India in 2027. Untill then, the 2026 Kia Seltos will continue to be available with the existing engine setups.

New Renault Duster

New Renault Duster Launch Date

The third-gen Renault Duster will make its India debut on 26th January 2026, followed soon by its launch. The SUV will look completely different from its predecessor, and offer a more premium interior. While official engine specifications are yet to be revealed, the new Duster is expected to be offered with a 1.3L petrol and a 1.2L mild hybrid petrol engine options.

Updated Skoda Kushaq/Volkswagen Taigun

Amid increasing competition, Skoda and Volkswagen are gearing up to give major midlife updates to their midsize offerings – the Kushaq and the Taigun. Both SUVs are expected to come with an ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) along with additional features. Minimal cosmetic changes are also expected. The 2026 Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun will continue to come with their existing petrol engine options.

Honda Elevate Hybrid

The Honda Elevate hybrid is reported to hit Indian roads in the second half of 2026, possibly around the Diwali season. It will be Honda’s first hybrid SUV in India. The Elevate hybrid is expected to share its powertrain with the City e:HEV hybrid sedan. Currently, the midsize SUV is available with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Nissan Tekton

Nissan Tekton Design

The all-new Nissan Tekton will essentially be the rebadged version of the new Renault Duster, featuring Nissan’s design language. The SUV will share its platform, features, components and engines with the Duster. This means, it could also be available with the 1.3L petrol or 1.2L mild hybrid petrol engine options.
