Mini India has commenced pre-bookings for the new Mini Convertible, ahead of its official launch scheduled for next month. The new Mini Convertible comes with an electrically retractable canvas roof that opens and closes in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h. The rest of the design is similar to the hardtop version. It has a low-set octagonal front grille flanked by circular LED headlamps and LED taillights. Inside, the Mini Convertible gets a simple, minimalistic dashboard with a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen in the centre. In India, the Mini Convertible is likely to be offered in the Cooper S trim. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 201 BHP and 300 Nm and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Mini claims the car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
