The 2025 Tesla Model Y has received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, the European crash test safety rating agency. This facelifted electric car was part of a group of 23 models, which included cars like Skoda Enyaq, Skoda Elrok, Mercedes CLE, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and Volvo EX90, which were to be tested.
Talking about the safety of adult passengers, Euro NCAP gave Tesla 91% marks. It said the Model Y’s body shell remained stable even after a frontal collision. This electric SUV provided adequate protection to adult passengers in both frontal collision and full width. In side impact testing, the SYV provided good protection to the occupants in the barrier impact test, however, chest protection was rated limited due to low compression readings in the side pole impact test.

The Model Whiplash protection was also rated as good.
In terms of child protection, the Model The agency also reported that all child safety seats could be properly seated in the car, although some points were reduced depending on the type of child safety system available in the SUV.
The Model The agency said the vehicle’s autonomous functions also performed well, including identifying and mitigating collisions with other road users, including cyclists and motorcyclists.
As far as safety systems in the car are concerned, Euro NCAP has given the updated Model Y a score of 92%, with the agency saying that all the systems are working well.
The global debut of the facelifted Model Y is set for early 2025, and the electric car is now on sale around the world. The electric car also becomes Tesla’s first model in the Indian market as the company launched the Model Y in India in July this year after years of speculation over its entry. In India, the Model Y is available in fully loaded rear-wheel drive (RWD) guises in both standard and long-range guises. The price of the first model is Rs.59.89 lakh, while the price of the second model is Rs.67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
