Mini India has started accepting bookings for the new Cooper Convertible ahead of its launch in December 2025. The Cooper Convertible is a drop-top model of Mini’s iconic 3-door hatch, with the fixed roof replaced by a power folding soft top that can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 30 kmph.

Design-wise, except for the folding soft-top, there are not many design differences in the Cooper Convertible compared to its hardtop model. The cabin is much the same, with a large circular central touchscreen acting as the center of the car, with a row of physical switches below it and a textured finish on the dashboard and upper doors.

Talking about the specifications, the Cooper Convertible is expected to be launched in India in its top-spec Cooper S specification with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 201 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. As standard, power is sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Globally, the convertible is also available in the entry-level Cooper C specification, which produces 161 bhp and 250 Nm, and the John Cooper Works specification, which produces 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.

Like the standard Cooper S already on sale in the country, buyers can expect the Mini Convertible to also offer some degree of customisation. The convertible will also have the same features as the hatchback, like head-up display, tire pressure monitoring, Harman Kardon sound system, powered front seats with memory, connected car technology and more.
