Test drove the 2025 Magnite 1.0L N/A: 5 pros & 4 cons BHPian Xpedition recently shared this with other enthusiasts: This is my first post, my sincere apologies if I have made any mistakes in this. The reason for posting this is because one week after my team-bhp membership was approved I got a chance to go for a long drive in Nissan Magnite Accenta variant (sadly the non turbo variant ) The drive was from Pune to Karad to Mahabaleshwar, then back to Karad and then Pune. So a total of 717kms and got to drive the car in city traffic, highways and hills. PROS: 1. The steering is super light, thus handling in city driving and parking in tight spaces was super easy. Made me feel like it was a small car. 2. But surprisingly it feels very spacious, could easily accommodate four with full luggage. I am 6ft tall and I feel I had a huge amount of legroom in the rear. I own a venue and I feel this car is more spacious. 3. Even though I drove the middle variant I felt it was very decently equipped. It comes with a touchscreen, which is aftermarket but factory fitted from Nissan I believe (not sure about its reliability ). It had TPMS also which was a surprising feature for this particular variant. 4. I did not face any issues regarding ergonomics, felt everything was placed perfectly in this car. CONS: 1. The engine feels so dull to drive, at highways I had to maintain 3000rpm in order to achieve a speed of 80-90kmph. In hills, oh boy it was struggling a lot. 2. The plastics feel cheap and there is panel gaps here and there. 3. Now this is something debatable, I don’t know if this was an issue or maybe I am not used to it. The biting point of the clutch felt weird to me. It took me some time to find the perfect spot and most of the times I had to end up pressing the accelerator a bit, thus I ended up stalling the car in bumper to bumper to traffic multiple times until i got the hang of it. Overall, I feel I can ignore the interior quality of the car but as someone who really loves to drive, I don’t think I can ignore the weak engine. So if it was the turbo then I believe that magnite is a beautiful car as a whole especially with the new facelift (Subjective: I do like the front face of the facelift compared to the older versions).
