Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Varanasi” continues to dominate social media conversations. Ever since the title footage dropped online, the internet hasn’t stopped raving, reacting, and decoding every frame of it. Fans and film analysts alike are stunned by the scale, the world-building, and the signature Rajamouli touch that elevates fantasy to an emotional and visual spectacle.

Adding to the excitement, the film’s VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan revealed a fascinating technical detail behind the breathtaking visuals. According to him, the title footage was shot at an extraordinary 400 frames per second, compared to the standard 24 fps.

“One of the core creative ideas was to present the world of Varanasi in extreme slow motion at 400 fps,” he explained. “Every element in the frame moves in slow motion, but the camera travels at real-time speed so that the audience can absorb the grandeur and the micro-details of each moment.”

This technique not only enhances the surreal, mythic tone of the film but also sets a new benchmark for Indian cinema’s visual storytelling. Rajamouli is known for pushing boundaries—with Baahubali and RRR, he redefined scale and global appeal.

Varanasi is described as a globe-trotting adventure thriller featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.

If this glimpse is anything to go by, Varanasi is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films in Indian cinema history.
