The Dharwad district police personnel have nabbed a fraudster duo from Hyderabad and handed them over to the Hyderabad police. The duo is wanted in fraud cases to the tune of ₹23 crore in Hyderabad.
The duo, identified as Satish Vuppalpati and Shilpa Banda, was intercepted and arrested by Dharwad Rural Police when they were passing through Hubballi Dharwad Bypass Road.
According to police, the duo is wanted in a fraud case registered at Hyderabad Central Crime Station. The accused Satish had escaped from the custody on November 20 when they had halted for food at Sadashivpet and fled in a car. Subsequently, the Hyderabad police had launched a man hunt for him.
On receiving an alert about the accused travelling via Hubbali Dharwad Bypass Road, the police had set up check posts at various points on the highway and finally managed to nab the duo, the release said.
