Hyderabad: Telangana residents, particularly those residing in the southern districts, might have to switch over from heavy winter jackets to raincoats as the State is expected to see light to moderate rain or thundershowers during the next two days.

This is due to formation of a low pressure over Strait of Malacca. It is expected to intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 24, and further intensify during the subsequent 48 hours.

As per Saturday’s preliminary forecast, districts including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthy are expected to witness light to moderate rains due to depression. However, there are no major changes in the weather conditions in Hyderabad in the next two days.

In its forecast, the IMD said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana on Sunday and Monday and dry weather is likely to prevail from November 25 to 28. Furthermore, the IMD Hyderabad has not issued any warning for the next seven days.

As for Hyderabad forecast on Saturday, the skies will be partly cloudy and mist/hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning or night hours during the next 48 hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, minimum temperatures, as per the Telangana Development Planning Society, went up across the State on Saturday, with the lowest minimum of 10.4 degrees Celsius observed at Lingapur in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district as against 9.9 degrees Celsius on the same day last year.

Under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas, the lowest minimum temperature of 16.3 degrees Celsius was registered at the University of Hyderabad in Rangareddy district.
