The Maruti Brezza, one of India’s top-selling subcompact SUVs, is all set to receive a major midlife update in 2026. Testing of the updated model has already begun, and one of its test mules was recently caught on camera wearing heavy camouflage. Interestingly, the prototype carried a CNG sticker on the rear windshield, and it’s expected to feature an underbody CNG tank similar to the one seen on the Maruti Victoris.
Advantages of Underbody CNG tank
Unlike the conventional boot-mounted CNG cylinder setup, the underbody CNG tank layout frees up the entire luggage area, making the vehicle more practical. The rear seat can also be folded fully. Furthermore, this placement helps improve weight distribution and ensures better stability.

Level 2 ADAS
The 2025 Maruti Brezza facelift might also be offered with a Level 2 ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) suite. It’s likely to offer safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and more.
The subcompact SUV is already equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, Isofix child seat anchors, three-point seatbelts for all seats, Impact sensing door unlock, rear parking sensors, three point ELR rear centre seatbelt and adjustable rear headrests.
Design & Feature Upgrades (Expected)
Details of the new 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift are still under wraps. However, the updated model is likely to draw some design cues from the newly-launched Victoris. Maruti Suzuki might also equip the new Brezza with additional features.
Same Petrol Engine & Gearboxes
Mechanically, the subcompact SUV might remain unchanged. Similar to the current model, it will continue to derive power from a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The motor generates a maximum power of 103bhp and 137Nm of torque.
