Priyanka Chopra is making her Telugu debut in SS Rajamouli’s globe-trotting adventure drama “Varanasi.” She has been involved with the project for the past ten months and is currently shooting key sequences on a specially constructed set in Hyderabad.
In a BTS video shared on her Instagram, Priyanka revealed that she has been rigorously learning Telugu.
While she hasn’t mastered the language yet, she has already picked up basic words and can comfortably communicate with the crew for daily interactions.
Determined to speak Telugu fluently by the end of filming, which expected to wrap up by August 2026, Priyanka has hired a dedicated Telugu coach. If she becomes proficient enough, Rajamouli may retain her original Telugu dialogues in the final cut; otherwise, her lines will be dubbed by another artiste.
Although “Varanasi”, which stars Mahesh Babu in the lead, will release in multiple Indian and international languages, Priyanka is expected to deliver her own lines in both Telugu and Hindi.
