The launch of the new Tata Sierra also marks the debut of the All-terrain Ready Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable Architecture (ARGOS) platform. It not only supports multiple powertrains but could also spawn different body styles. According to media reports, the Sierra could get a stretched version with 7 seats. The carmaker is currently evaluating a long-wheelbase 3-row version of the SUV that could slot below the Safari. Tata said that the decision to expand the Sierra line-up would depend on the market response. The company also believes that the new models must not overlap with the Harrier and Safari and deliver incremental volumes. Initially, the Sierra will only be available in a 5-seat configuration. However, the carmaker plans to introduce an AWD variant in 2027. Source:Autocar India
