Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Thursday granted an interim stay on a single judge order related to selection under the 2% sports quota in Group-I services.A division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin stayed the operative portion of the Oct 2025 order, saying the matter required detailed examination. The appeals were listed for admission on Jan 12, 2026, and the hearing was adjourned. In the Oct order, the single judge held that candidates who participated in senior nationals, junior nationals, or all-India university competitions were eligible under the sports quota. The judge had directed the Telangana Public Service Commission to release results and fill vacancies if candidates were found eligible. Of the 563 notified Group-I posts, four were reserved under the sports quota.
