Hyderabad: Stating that the Telangana Rising-2047 policy document will be a strategic blueprint aimed at guiding the state’s development over the next few decades, chief minister A Revanth Reddy has said there is a need for a comprehensive and clear roadmap to achieve significant economic milestones such as transforming the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.Speaking at a Telangana Rising-2047 meeting with officials on Thursday, the CM said the policy document should have components like regional economic development, including its three distinct regions — core urban region economy (CURE), peri urban region economy (PURE), and rural agriculture region economy (RARE). “Each region requires tailored development strategies to leverage its unique strengths and address specific challenges,” he said. The policy document should outline plans for growth in critical sectors such as health, education, technology, global capability centres (GCCs), pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. “These sectors are pivotal for driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents,” the CM added.Emphasising the importance of infrastructure, he said the policy should detail plans for developing roads, ports, and connectivity, ensuring that new airports are equipped to handle both passenger and cargo services, which is vital for boosting trade and tourism.He also said there should be clarity on welfare and tourism. The document should provide clear guidelines on welfare initiatives and the development of temple tourism and eco-tourism, as well as the energy department’s role and future plans. “These areas can contribute to economic diversification and cultural preservation, which is essential for ensuring sustainable development and meeting the state’s growing energy needs,” he added.“The policy document must convey that there is no policy paralysis in the state, highlighting a proactive and dynamic approach to governance. Plans should be realistic, carefully crafted, and aligned with the state’s long-term vision,” the CM said. Overall, the Telangana Rising-2047 policy document should serve as a comprehensive guide for the state’s development, ensuring that all regions and sectors are poised for growth and that the state remains competitive and sustainable in the long run, he opined.
