Change: Varanasi becomes Rajamouli’s Varanasi

Rajamouli’s globe-trotting epic Varanasi has undergone a title change following a controversy over naming rights. Since Rama Bhakta Hanuma Creations had registered the title “Varanasi” long before Rajamouli’s announcement, the director was not permitted to use it under Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce rules.

However, both parties have reportedly reached an amicable settlement.

As per media reports, Rajamouli has agreed to modify the Telugu title to “Rajamouli’s Varanasi”, resolving the dispute. Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film is produced by KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya.
