Two drug peddlers arrested by excise officials; over 750 gm ganja seized

Two drug peddlers have been arrested by the State Task Force (STF) teams of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition department in two separate operations in Hyderabad on Saturday (November 29). The officials seized over 750 gm of dry ganja along with vehicles and electronic devices from them.

In the first case on Friday evening, the STF – C team, following a tip-off, arrested Shakti Vijay Kumar, 35, of Pardhi Basti in Sitaphalmandi, Secunderabad, and seized 560 gm of dry ganja from his possession. The accused, along with the contraband, was handed over to Musheerabad police for further investigation.

In another operation, STF Team B conducted route watch at Chaderghat bridge in Kachiguda and intercepted Manish Singh, who was allegedly carrying ganja for sale. Officials seized 230 gm of dry ganja, a two-wheeler and two mobile phones from him. He is suspected to have procured the ganja from Mangar Basti with the intention of selling it in the Chaderghat. The accused, along with the seized items, was handed over to Kachiguda police for further probe.
