India-spec Maruti Suzuki e Vitara unveiled ahead of launch Maruti Suzuki has finally revealed its first electric SUV for the Indian market, the e Vitara. Bookings will open soon, and sales will commence in January 2026. The Maruti e Vitara will be available in three variants: Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Customers will get two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The base Delta trim will be offered with the smaller battery, while the Zeta and Alpha trims will get the 61 kWh battery pack. The 61 kWh battery has an ARAI-certified range of up to 543 km. The maximum range of the 49 kWh version was not disclosed. Neither has Maruti revealed the specifications of the electric motor. That being said, the carmaker did confirm that the e Vitara will be available with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and assured buyback. It will also be sold via a subscription model. Maruti Suzuki is collaborating with 13 charging point operators to set up a nationwide network of EV chargers. 2,000 chargers will be live on launch day. According to Maruti, around 1,500 service outlets are EV-ready for servicing; out of these, 500 workshops are already prepared for EV support.
