Maruti Suzuki India’s first electric car, the E Vitara, has received a 5-star safety rating in the new Bharat NCAP crash test. This electric SUV, which will soon be available for sale in India, has received a 5-star rating in both adult and child safety tests. Maruti Suzuki E Vitara has got a rating of 31.49/32 for adult safety and 43/49 for child safety. This is the highest score achieved by any Maruti Suzuki model in crash tests.

This is the highest score achieved by any Maruti Suzuki model in crash tests.

The crash test of Maruti Suzuki E Vitara was done for front offset barrier test and side movable barrier test. In the first test, the car scored 15.49 out of 16 and in the side barrier test it scored 16 out of 16. According to the report, protection for the driver’s head, neck, thighs and legs was found to be good, while protection for his chest and legs was found to be adequate. The protection provided to the co-passenger was overall considered good.

The car scored 15.49 out of 16 points in the front offset barrier test and 16 out of 16 points in the side barrier test.

Talking about safety features, the new Maruti Suzuki E Vitara comes with many standard features. These include 7 airbags, seatbelt reminder, electronic stability control (ESC), and seatbelt pretensioner and load limiter for driver and co-driver. ISOFIX mounts for child seat restraints are available only in the second row, on the two outboard seats. The expensive variants of the E Vitara will also have additional features like 360-degree view camera and ADAS.

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara comes with 7 airbags, seatbelt reminder, electronic stability control (ESC) as standard.

The e Vitara is available in three variants and two battery pack options – Delta (with a 49 kWh unit), Zeta, and Alpha (with a 61 kWh unit). The lower variant has a front-mounted motor that produces 142 bhp and 192.5 Nm of torque, while the more powerful configuration produces 172 bhp. An all-wheel drive (AWD) variant is available in international markets, but is not confirmed for India. Depending on the variant, the WLTP-certified range of the e Vitara is up to 428 km.
