BHPian Ajmal007 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: A comprehensive breakdown of my aesthetic and functional upgrades with a strict eye on costs Hello Team-BHPians, Since taking delivery of my Jimny 5-door, I’ve noticed most threads focus on hardcore off-road capabilities-lift kits, heavy bumpers, and intense terrain focus. My goal was different: to create a clean, premium-looking daily driver that retains the Jimny’s iconic look while significantly improving its stance, road manners, and interior comfort, all while keeping the project highly budget-friendlyA. Stance & Safety: The Tyre SwapThis was the most crucial aesthetic and functional change. Stock: 195/80 R15 HT Upgrade To: Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 Size: 215/75 R15 (fills the wheel well perfectly) Reason: The 215/75 R15 provides a better sidewall profile and the aggressive look of an AT tyre without impacting the overall gear ratios or risking rubbing. The Yokohama G015 strikes an excellent balance between highway quietness and off-road capability. B. Exterior Aesthetics: Eliminating Chrome & Adding CustomisationFront Grill: Swapped the stock Maruti chrome/grey grill for a blacked-out [Defender-style / Mesh] plastic grill. Bumper Paint: Instead of bulky aftermarket bumpers, I opted to simply get the original bumper painted in white. This subtle change dramatically elevated the “premium” feel. Painted all plastic claddings to white: gives a premium look and matches the whole theme Painted the side mirrors to white, which were in black originally Blacked out indicators and tail lights to give contrast to white body color Added tyre cover from Maruti accessories to finish that premium build C. Interior & ComfortTwo simple mods drastically improved daily usability. Arm Rest: Installed an aftermarket soft-cushion armrest/centre console. Essential for highway cruising. Knee Pads: Soft cushion knee pads installed on the centre stack to improve comfort for the passenger during cornering or long drives. The Final Cost (in Rupees)Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 (215/75 R15) : 30,000 Custom Front Grill : 8000 High-Quality Painting : 30,000 Arm Rest & Soft Cushion Knee Pads : 12,000 The total cost came upto ~80,000 I am extremely happy with the results. The total cost of 80,000 was a worthwhile investment to transform the Jimny into a refined, comfortable, and visually striking street machine. I have compiled a detailed 7-minute video companion that shows the before-and-after, the installation process, and a full review of the parts.
