BHPian Offtheroad recently shared this with other enthusiasts: This morning, something unexpected happened on my way home. I had just entered a narrow road, driving my CRDe Thar with its wide tyres. As I moved ahead, an Innova taxi approached from the opposite side. The road was tight, and from the way he hesitated, I felt he expected me to pull down to the side-maybe because I was driving a Thar, and people often assume it can easily go off-road or adjust more. But in reality, I wasn’t in a position to move down safely, and I genuinely didn’t make any mistake. Still, in that moment of misjudgment from both sides, his rear bumper ended up coming off. I immediately felt bad. The driver started explaining his side-saying I should’ve been more careful, especially since I was driving a modified vehicle. His tone was slightly louder than normal, not angry, but trying hard to justify what happened. Instead of arguing back, I walked up to him and simply offered a genuine handshake. That one gesture changed everything. His face softened instantly, and a beautiful smile came across. He said, “It’s alright, doesn’t matter.” When he left, he gave me a big, friendly wave. That moment made me both happy and thoughtful. I did feel a bit of regret-maybe I could have tried harder to give him more space, and I’m sure he felt the same.
