Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud hailed the Telangana Rising Global Summit as a “super success”, noting that world-renowned companies participated and committed to major investments across sectors.
“Under CM Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the State is witnessing an economic revival after 10 years of destruction,” he said at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.
The announcement of the Fourth City project would be a “historic decision”, he said, “with world-class urban infrastructure, that would make the world “look at Telangana in astonishment”.
Taking aim at the previous BRS government, Mr. Goud said that the party left the State “financially devastated” and engaged in “loot in the name of water and funds.”
He questioned whether the BRS government had installed even a single statue of Telangana Thalli during its 10-year rule. “But within just one year of coming to power, the Congress government installed the Telangana Thalli statue at the Secretariat,” he said.
He remarked that the BRS now stands dismantled and people no longer believe the statements of its leaders. He alleged that KCR was avoiding coming out only because he knows the real public mood.
Mr. Goud reiterated that Sonia Gandhi, whom he described as “Telangana Pradata and Telangana Thalli”, fulfilled her promise by granting statehood. He credited her leadership and the Congress ideology for TG’s continued progress today.
Claiming that Congress had won 90% of the Sarpanches elected unanimously so far, Mr. Goud credited it to the trust of people in Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s governance and welfare-driven administration.
He expressed particular satisfaction over the unanimous election of Tirupati, an educated ST candidate, as sarpanch of his native village Rahmat Nagar, calling it “a welcome development that showcases rising awareness and leadership among youth and educated communities.”
