BHPian ridermonk recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I have max budget of 27-28 lacs (can only stretch if there is worthy enough which justifies the cost) I own 2018 Innova Crysta VX (run approx 156000). I am getting around 15.5-16 lacs of exchange value since the car has full service history. I am planning to swap it with another crysta only which would cost around 26-26.5 lacs depending upon where I register it. Since the car is aging and will be requiring suspension work plus sone other works in my opinion it would be wise to let go rather than retain (but i need inputs on this as well from you guys)Pros And ConsFor SwappingProsI will be getting following feature upgrades since in 2018 these weren’t available on VX model. 1) 7 airbags instead of 3, VSC/ESP, hill assist/descend. 2) Cruise control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, power folding mirrors, front parking sensors. 3) A new vehicle with peace of mind for next 4-5 years. I have to go with 8 seater option only since its a minimum requirement for my family…Cons1) I am pretty much getting the same vehicle for around 10-10.5 lacs. 2) Potential DPF issues. 3) Diesel norms ( though the car will be used mostly in tier 2-3 cities in madhya pradesh, Maharashtra abd chattisgarh so i dont think it will have much issue There is always an itch to upgrade but i have found 0 potential upgrade to be honest…. If we stretch out to fortuner but the 4×2 mt costs around 38-40 lacs OTR and paying 10-11 lacs more for reduced comfort and almost 10 year old platform doesn’t make any sense. Potential questions for fellow Bhpians: 1) Is it wise or worthy enough to swap another crysta (most of my friends who bought crysta with me or before have executed this option) 2) Get the suspension and other related works which would anywhere cost around 1-1.5 lacs and wait for new fortuner? 3) Is DPF issue very severe that it makes sense to not opt changing? PS: the inputs from @poloman, @jbpanda, @PrideRed since these guys are in possession of both the potential vehicles and i would love their inputs on ride quality…. After all ride quality matters when we cruise 200 plus kms especially in India… Thank you!Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
