BHPian Dippy recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Over the years, many of us have bought gadgets and other things for our daily use. Some of them turn out to be unique and become rarer as time passes. There are many such things that came out in the past few decades that you won’t see often anywhere, which makes them even more special. Let me start with something I have. This is a Toshiba portable TV, model CA045. My dad had bought it in the late 80s, and such a tiny TV was a pretty cool thing then. The screen is 5 inches and comes with an integrated shade to cover the screen as well. You can check out the small power button and the slider for the volume controller. The channel tuning knob is on the side, with small circular knobs to adjust the brightness, contrast and other things. I remember using this TV in our Pune home during our various trips. Just plug in the cable TV wire, and we used to get all the channels. The TV still works, though I need to find a power cable for it. Here are some pictures: What’s something rare and vintage that you own? It would be cool hear, and pictures would be a bonus. Here’s what BHPian GTO replied:I still have one of these old 1 TB hard-drives somewhere. Imagine the sheer size = today, we have 8 TB SD cards being announced! Am a sucker for backing up my laptop data (although this 1 TB is probably from the desktop days). Trivia = some years, we even backup all Team-BHP servers to a physical hard-drive that is shipped to me. Can’t lose 50-lakh posts, can we?
