Atal Dealt Firmly With Terror Attacks, Says Madhav

Kurnool: AP BJP president P. V. N. Madhav said former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee responded firmly to terror attacks and took decisive action to protect the nation’s security. Addressing the Atal–Modi Suparipalana Bus Yatra in Nandyal on Saturday, he recalled that after the 2001 Parliament attack, Vajpayee ordered Operation Parakram to deal strongly with those responsible.

Madhav said Vajpayee was a leader who connected with all sections of society and believed in unity beyond barriers. He noted that with L. K. Advani as Deputy prime Minister, the Vajpayee government acted decisively against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He added that under the Modi-led government too, terror attacks have been met with firm responses, citing recent operations, including Operation Sindoor. Madhav also recalled Vajpayee’s role in the freedom movement and his lifelong dedication to the nation.

Law and minority welfare minister N. M. D. Farooq said Vajpayee should be remembered for his integrity and sacrifice. R&B minister B. C. Janardhan Reddy said the Vajpayee government prioritised road connectivity and national highways, the benefits of which are evident today. Medical and Health minister G. Satyakumar Yadav said Vajpayee strengthened both welfare initiatives and India’s defence capabilities, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has further boosted the economy and defence sectors.

As part of the programme, a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled in Nandyal town. Leaders of the BJP, Telugu Desam and Jana Sena were present.
