Hyderabad Police to Deploy SHE Teams, DD and Drugs Checking during New Year


Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police asked the managements of star hotels, clubs, bars-cum-restaurants and pubs to display the below advisory at the entrance and inside their establishment on the occasion of New Year celebrations.

In the advisory, the police said drunk driving (DD) is an offence under section 185 MV Act. Permissible alcohol limit is up to and below 30 mg/100 ml of blood i.e., 30 micrograms/100 ml of blood. Anything above that, as recorded by a breath analyzer is a violation.

If anyone found driving the vehicle in drunken condition, a case will be booked against them. In such case, if any person with valid driving license accompanies him or her, they must undergo test. If found not inebriated, the vehicle will be given to him, otherwise vehicle will be shifted to the police station for temporary custody.

The customers will have to reach the police station next working day along with original driving license and Registration Certificate of vehicle to claim the vehicle. Whenever police summons, the person concern should attend the court and police will file Charge sheet against them.

Explaining the punishment to be awarded to those who were caught driving in a drunken condition, the police said a penalty for drunken driving is Rs.10,000 or six months imprisonment. Driving license will be suspended for three months and above or permanently.

Minors should not drive the vehicle and owners will be held responsible in case of any violation and accident by a minor driving the vehicle. Silencers of two wheelers should not be removed and noise pollution should be avoided.

Customers are also informed that driving their vehicles in over speed, dangerous driving and racing in public places will also be punishable under sections 183 and 184 of MV Act.

SHE Teams are everywhere, so anyone indulging in crime against women will be strictly dealt with law. The concept of “designated driver for a day” who can safely take home co-passengers without himself or herself indulging in drinking beyond limit to be explained to the customers as well as displayed at prominent places for their safety.
